What event services does Dovetail Creative offer?
Dovetail Creative provides end-to-end event support including event strategy and concept development, full event management, conferences, awards and live events, trade shows and exhibitions, virtual and hybrid events, content capture and amplification through podcasts and video, and insight, measurement and AI-enabled evaluation. Support runs from earliest concept development through to post-event evaluation.
-
Can Dovetail Creative run a campaign around our event?
Yes. Dovetail Creative helps clients think beyond the event itself through content capture, podcast and video production, and insight-led evaluation, turning a single day into an ongoing asset. The mobile podcast studio can be set up at exhibitions and conferences, as it was for Zixi's live podcast on their IBC exhibition stand and for The Hive Group's interviews on the ISE show floor. Recorded sessions and interviews can then be repurposed into short-form social clips, blog articles, newsletter summaries and audiograms for use long after the room empties.
-
How much does event management cost?
Dovetail Creative offer bespoke packages depending on the format, scale, location and level of support required, from an intimate roundtable to a large-scale conference or exhibition presence. The agency can quote for full end-to-end management or for specific elements only, such as event strategy and concept development, content capture, moderation or post-event evaluation. Contact Dovetail Creative with your event brief for a tailored quote.
-
How do you measure the success of an event?
Dovetail Creative treats measurement as part of event design rather than an afterthought, providing insight, measurement and AI-enabled evaluation alongside delivery. Objectives are agreed at the concept stage so format, content, speaker selection and follow-up all map back to them, and post-event evaluation assesses what the event delivered against the organisation's broader goals. This is why Dovetail Creative recommends involving an event partner as early as possible, before the key decisions about format, content and speakers have already been made.

Can you record a podcast at our event or off-site?
Yes. Dovetail Creative has mobile podcast equipment available for in-person events, so recording is not limited to the Harwell studio. The team has produced live podcasts on exhibition stands and show floors, including Zixi's live podcast at IBC and The Hive Group's Buzzcast interviews at ISE. On-site capture can be combined with Dovetail Creative's wider event support, and recordings can be edited and repurposed afterwards into social clips, blog articles and newsletter content.
-
What equipment does the podcast studio have?
Dovetail Studio is a dedicated, sound-treated space equipped with Rode microphones on a Rodecaster setup for up to four guests, a professional recording deck for multi-track audio capture so each contributor is recorded on a separate track for cleaner editing, and Canon camera kit for video podcasts with a choice of looks and set configurations. Room dressing is flexible, with multiple backdrop and lighting options to suit your brand, and multiple set changes can be made within one session at £25 per change excluding VAT.

What membership services does Dovetail Creative offer?
Dovetail Creative supports the full membership lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to long-term engagement, retention and renewal. Services include membership strategy and planning, engagement and retention programmes, member journey design, recruitment and renewal campaigns, CRM insight and optimisation, and data-led decision making and AI readiness.
-
How much membership sector experience does Dovetail Creative have?
Dovetail Creative's team has worked inside the membership sector for over 25 years. Founder Lisa Collins established the agency after more than 25 years across membership, marketing and events, and is a recognised sector voice as a speaker and moderator. That means sector-specific knowledge and practical frameworks rather than a generic agency playbook, including the IMPACT Framework and the Member Journey Planner, both developed from real-world work with membership organisations.
-
What is the IMPACT Framework?
The IMPACT Framework is Dovetail Creative's structured approach to membership success, built on extensive research and real-world work with membership organisations. It brings together six principles that consistently deliver results: Engagement, Recruitment, CRM, Internal Processes, AI readiness and Integration. It gives organisations a clear place to start, whether the challenge is retention, an underused CRM or making sense of AI, and is available to download free from the membership page.
-
How can we improve member retention and renewal rates?
Dovetail Creative's approach starts with insight into what members actually value and how they behave, then translates that into strategies, campaigns and communications that strengthen engagement at every stage of the journey. Practical steps include mapping the member journey to find friction points, improving CRM data quality and segmentation, and looking beyond surface metrics such as email opens to the behaviours that genuinely predict renewal.
One of the most common challenges we see is marketing activity that's busy but disconnected. Good work happening in silos that never quite adds up to a coherent whole
-
What kind of organisations does Dovetail Creative work with?
Dovetail Creative works with membership bodies and associations, corporate brands, technology companies, professional communities and specialist organisations. Its client list spans media and broadcast technology, housing, education, healthcare, sustainability and trade association sectors. The agency is UK-based at Harwell Science & Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire and works with clients across the UK and internationally, including at trade shows and exhibitions such as IBC, ISE and NAB Show. Dovetail Creative is a good fit for organisations that want marketing to deliver measurable outcomes rather than just look good.
-
What marketing services does Dovetail Creative offer?
Dovetail Creative offers a full range of marketing services from strategy through to execution, delivering multi-channel campaigns for membership bodies, associations and specialist brands. These include marketing strategy, planning and messaging; brand strategy and positioning; creative design and ideation; content strategy and thought leadership; video and podcast production in its own Dovetail Studio; campaigns and digital engagement across email, social and web; and data-led insight, segmentation and AI readiness. Everything is connected by insight and delivered with senior-level thinking. Dovetail Creative can run a defined project or act as a genuine extension of your in-house team, providing capacity and senior expertise without the overhead of additional headcount.
-
What makes Dovetail Creative different from other marketing agencies?
Dovetail Creative works as a strategic partner rather than a supplier, connecting marketing, events and membership through a single insight-led approach. It is a small, senior team, so clients work directly with experienced practitioners rather than a junior account manager, and senior involvement continues at every stage of delivery, not just at the pitch. Insight-led means building strategy from evidence about your goals, audiences and competitive landscape rather than from assumptions, because a common problem is marketing activity that is busy but disconnected, with good work happening in silos that never adds up.
-

The Harwell site is also home to Dovetail Studio, the agency's dedicated podcast and video recording space. Dovetail Creative has an international client base spanning Europe, North America and beyond, and the team regularly supports clients at international trade shows and exhibitions such as IBC, ISE and NAB Show.
